67% of the French are ready to consume less meat

According to an Elabe survey for BFMTV, 82% of the French are also ready to reduce their energy consumption at home to help limit climate change.

Are the French ready to live more soberly? 74% say yes, while 25% believe it is possible to face climate problems without changing their habits – an increase of 7% in 3 months.

In detail, the Elabe Institute for BFMTV asked a sample of 1005 French people what efforts they were ready to make to respond to climate problems. According to the results of this survey published on Monday 14 November, 82% of the French would contribute by reducing their energy consumption at home, gas and electricity. 72% of them are also ready to prefer used or rental rather than buying new.

What bet on food?

Regarding food, 68% of respondents would agree to pay more for fruit and vegetables if they are produced locally, while 67% of them would buy less meat. And for pesticide-free fruit and vegetables, 65% of respondents are also willing to pay more.

Finally, on the transport aspect, 65% of French respondents – those who take their car several times a week – say they are ready to use it less. As for the French who take the plane at least once every two years, only 31% of them are ready to stop traveling by this means of transport.
