It is a practice as old as the world. Do you know why dogs sniff people’s crotch? The explanation here!
Pets are present in many homes in France. Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs… Hairballs are very popular among French families. Especially cats and dogs. And sometimes the latter have attitudes that are difficult to analyze if you are not a dog behaviorist. Especially when he barks for no reason, when he stares into yours as if he wants to tell you something, when he no longer wants to eat his croquettes or… when he sniffs the crotch of your guests. If it mostly makes their master laugh a lot, it can be a bit awkward to be in this situation. But anyway, what does that mean? Why do dogs smell people’s private parts?
dog communication
First, it is a natural behavior of animals. Dogs have a habit of sniffing each other when they meet in the park or on the street. It’s a way for them to tell each other ” Good morning “. But not only, as it is also a test, to know if they fit their smell. They gather this information before making a decision: I love you or not. They can also tell if it is a male or a female and in what state of health they are. All this is transferred thanks to “apocrine sweat glands”. And do you know that? Women and men have them too! Dogs therefore behave in the same way by coming to sniff them to gather information.
In humans, the apocrine sweat glands are used to produce secretions that cause odors specific to each person. Dogs can smell the pheromones of each person they sniff and therefore receive information about sex life. Pheromones are very present in armpits, nipples and private parts. Dogs can sense if a woman is pregnant, ovulating, nursing or menstruating. He will feel your step more urgent if you have just had an intimate relationship. He will sniff out a person he does not know to get to know him, or he will do it with his master or retinue to find out his state of mind for the day or the moment.
