In Manchester on the streets of Wythenshawe (UK) no one can ignore Luna. It is a cat that we qualify as “chimera” due to its physical peculiarity: its fur is divided into two very different colors, as if it were wearing a mask.
Luna is a cat of just over 2 years who lives with his owner Janet Bell. The latter adopts the feline from her friend Tarareports Daily mail.

The cats say “chimeras” as Luna are characterized by a two-colored coat on the head, as if they had 2 different faces. Thereby, Luna appears with a red side and a black side perfectly symmetrical on the skull.
The term is a reminder of Greek mythologyfor which “chimera“would be a creature composed of two animals.
Cats can conceive the same litter of kittens with different partners. As a result, the newborns will all be born at the same time, but with non-identical DNA.
Sometimes, while still in their mother’s womb as embryos, the latter may fuse. There will therefore be 2 dissociated DNA in 1 single kitten, which will be “chimera“At his birth.
