The dog was locked in a car parked on rue Daguerre, in Clermont-Ferrand, in the midst of a heat wave and for more than an hour. When the police found it, this Saturday, around noon, a young man came to them, acknowledging that he had forgotten the animal.

But another element intrigued the officials concerning this 28-year-old Clermontois: barking, coming from his home. Inside it, the police discovered 17 other dogs locked in cages, which were distributed in a living room of 12 m2 and a garage.
Unsuitable reception conditions
The young man would have explained that his girlfriend, then absent, was a pet sitter, animal caretaker at home. According to the police, the dogs were in good health. They were fed and had something to drink. But given the completely unsuitable reception conditions and the presumed lack of approval for this kind of activity, the young man was placed in police custody, where he was still, this Saturday evening.
The 18 dogs were taken in charge by the Puy-de-Dôme Animal Protection Association to be returned to their owners.
