The facts were discovered thanks to a phone call at the beginning. In August 2022, a Parisian veterinary clinic received a call from a man living in Haubourdin who was concerned about the condition of his cat. . Its president, Antony Blanchard, contacts the man and persuades him to bring his suffering cat to a veterinary clinic in Lille.
Despite the care provided at the scene, the cat dies, which indeed appears to have been abused. But thanks to reports from the association, a few days later the police intervened in this man’s home and discovered an unbearable scene: a dying cat and about twenty others, crammed together in a tiny shed full of mishaps, with excrement everywhere, all in a terrible stench.
The man has been arrested. The dying cat did not survive, the other cats were handed over to Animal Protection. Four associations are civic parties for this trial, which will take place on 5 January 2023 before the court in Lille: Sagen Animale Nord, LPA, Brigitte Bardot Foundation and SOS animal aid.
