Charlotte hasn’t set foot outside her home for several years, and her mother Meta doesn’t know what to do to get her to regain a normal life. The arrival of Lexi in their daily life, a magnificent Labrador retriever with magical powers, will be a true miracle for the whole family.
Belfast, Northern Ireland, is home to Meta Leonard and her daughter Charlotte. The latter suffers from many disorders (autism, bipolar and schizoaffective disorders, learning disabilities and clinical depression) which prevent her from leading a normal life, as reported by Belfast live.
Her mother tried everything to make her life better, but she felt abandoned by doctors, hospitals and social services. Little by little, mother and daughter were locked inside the home, so much so that their house was turned into a kind of ” prison “. They survived with the help of their relatives who brought them groceries as it was impossible for them to go out.
Then Lexi arrived in April 2022

Meta continued to fight and the day she met Lexi, she knew she had just gotten her hands on the solution to all their problems. This wonderful Labrador retrievers ended their suffering and he is a real ” miracle ” to Charlotte and his mother.
Thanks to her reassuring presence, the 29-year-old young woman has become ” quieter and goes out of his house once a week, after being isolated for 15 years. Lexi comes fromDogs NI Supportan association that trains dogs to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities.
A revival of hope thanks to a fabulous creature
It is clear that this dog has changed their lives forever. ” This beautiful dog has given us a sense of freedom, he has allowed Charlotte to let go of her worries and he gives me hope for the future ” told Meta.

Now the young disabled woman goes to the mall, goes to the bakery, and she has reconnected with her passion for drawing. These are things that seem simple to many of us, but for Charlotte and his mother, these are real feats.
” Do you see why I believe in miracles? Lexi simply made life possible for us. He gave me back my Charlotte. He did what no human had been able to do before ” said Meta. Don’t we say that the dog is man’s best friend after all?
