When this woman heard her cat screaming in the garden, she had no idea what he had just experienced.
Tracy Mansell is the owner of an 8-year-old cat named Billy. One day, Tracy heard Billy cried in pain in the garden and watched him walk with difficulty. She approached, but the cat would not let her touch him. Only the man of Tracy managed to catch Billythere was less hostility towards him.
Billy’s family contacted on-call doctors
Billy was in great pain. Somehow he had been injured and then painfully dragged himself home for help. “It was absolutely heartbreaking to see him in this state, I was very worried“, told Tracyin words reported by Express & Star. “I knew Billy needed to see a vet as soon as possible so I called the PDSA and the team referred me to the charity’s petting service in Oldbury”.
According to the vet, Billy had been hit by a vehicle
Fortunately, Billy was quickly taken care of by the doctors. He was given pain medication, then given general anesthesia to have an X-ray.
The results revealed a broken pelvis, in addition to a large wound to the leg.

“Billy’s injuries were consistent with a traffic accident” explained the vet. “He needed pain relief and round-the-clock care, so he was hospitalized for three more nights”.
Furthermore, damages regarding Billy prevented him from urinating properly. The doctor wanted this to be restored when the cat returned home.

Thanks to good veterinary treatments, Billy was then able to rejoin his family with a strict rest instruction for 3 weeks. Tracy was very relieved to find him, and thankful for the medical team. “When he was gone, it was like a part of the family was gone“, she confided.
