Beauvaisienne Camille Pila, 24, took part in a calvados-based cocktail competition on June 13. The event was held in Normandy, in Pennedepie (Calvados). It was organized by the Calva Club. About fifty candidates presented their cocktails on social networks during pre-selections. Twelve of them were selected (6 French, 6 Belgian).
With a Corsican plant bitter
The test consisted in reproducing 6 copies of their flagship cocktail in front of a jury made up of professionals. That of the young winner combined calvados from the Pays d’Auge, raw cider caramel, cider vinegar and bitters made from Nepita, a plant from the Corsican maquis.
Camille left with a check for 1,000 euros, but also above all with the title of Calvados ambassador at the next Bar Convent in Berlin, which will be held in October. Camille Pila usually works at the family bar-restaurant La Part des Anges in Beauvais.
