Do we know all the virtues that dogs bring to living together? Nolwenn Calvez, animal mediator within the Iroise Animal Mediation structure (Finistère), works in about twenty communities (Ehpad, day centers, schools, establishment and service of help through work, etc.) in the Brest region with her four bitches.
Thanks to Bella, Australian shepherd, and Câline, Trésor et Bisous, my King-Charles riders, I offer therapeutic support, explains Nolwenn. They bring peace and reconciliation to all the vulnerable people with whom they come into contact.
Two months of training
Among these adorable balls of fur, Bella demonstrates the ability to pass through hoops during the engine workshops performed with the patients. That’s all it takes for Nolwenn to embark on a crazy challenge: Watch the elderly, people with disabilities and children gather around Bella to make her jump through more than 100 hoops.
A record for which Nolwenn contacted Guinness World Records, who accepted this never-realized challenge, before withdrawing because he had to pay the sum of 6,000 pounds for his record to be accepted. I still wanted to go to the end of this project that Bella has been training for for two months. This is an opportunity to highlight the association, Les 1001 pattes ont du cœur, which helps children in difficulties by offering them a therapeutic approach using animals.
At the Capucins workshops, Bella will achieve the feat of crossing the 150 hoops that all the patients have, as well as the players from D2 in Stade Brestois 29 who have come to cheer her on.
