The town of Rutherglen in Lanarkshire, Scotland has suffered an impressive wave of burglaries for almost a month. However, no valuables are stolen. These are the residents’ socks that mysteriously disappear.
Tracy Chambers is the proud owner of charlie, a white and ginger alley cat, whom she adopted a year ago. Until then, the tomcat had quite ordinary activities for a feline.
However, since the end of June 2022, he has frequently brought his mistress back socks for which he has an overflowing passion. Tracy now finds itself in possession of various models.
“It would have been much better if he brought the mice that ravage my garden”she joked.

His first theft was white football socks that Tracy immediately threw it in the trash, thinking it was an isolated act. However, since charlie goes hunting every day and proudly returns with his trophies.
“We have pink, yellow or even purple ones with love hearts on them. I have enough for a real collection now”said Tracy to Daily Record.
A social media star
The mistress thought that the residents of the neighborhood must accuse their washing machine of swallowing their clothes. She therefore started posting on the Facebook group of the city of Rutherglen the finds of his tomcat to dispel their doubts.
To date, no one has claimed any of his property, but charlie became the most beloved offender around.

We can read in the comments of the photos: if all thieves were like Charlie, the world would be a better place”, “Is he a burglar or a comedian? Because he makes me laugh a lot”Where “He could leave a few all the same”.

Tracy is also amused by his tomcat’s unusual character trait and wonders where it could possibly come from. Yesterday again, charlie brought back a white lace sock from a neighboring house.
A GPS cat collar might help Tracy to find the victims.
