FEC: 34% increase in loan commitments at the end of September

Loan commitments from the Communal Equipment Fund (FEC) reached more than 2.6 billion DH at the end of September last year, an increase of 34% year-on-year. According to the fund, which published its results for the third quarter, this increase is “is mainly explained by the resumption of the actions of the territorial communities observed after the renewal of their offices and the start of the phase of mobilization of financial resources for the realization of their projects, which affects the level of loan commitments to form bank”.

In 2021, lending activity was characterized by a temporary slowdown in the pace of new project commitments in connection with the election context. Loan disbursements are not affected as quickly in terms of project implementation times, thus amounting to SEK 1.8 billion at the end of September 2022. DH, a decrease compared to the same period last year. These funds have made it possible to finance the implementation of several projects in different intervention sectors, in particular road infrastructure and specialized equipment, which represented almost 50% of the total amount of loan disbursements at the end of September 2022.

In total, receivables from customers reached MAD 26 billion at the end of September 2022, an increase of 2% year-on-year.
