The big news expected by many people has been announced: Henry Cavill is back as Superman. Against Man of Steel 2? Fans haven’t seen anything yet!
Henry Cavill has put an end to rumors and countless questions about his return as Superman. So is it yes?
Henry Cavill is donning Superman’s cape, it’s official!
Henry Cavill has finally announced what everyone has been dreaming of hearing: He will reprise his role as Superman and will therefore be part of the DCU’s grand recovery plan. And according to the actor’s Instagram post, we are not at the end of our surprises. Be careful, though, because his text contains a huge spoiler on the recent DC film Black Adam.
As teased by Dwayne Johnson before the film’s release, Henry Cavill makes a cameo in Black Adam’s post-credits scene. A fabulous idea that was initiated by former wrestler The Rock, against the advice of former president of DC Films Walter Hamada. This camera, which still took six years to make, is therefore transformed into an official return:
Hi every one,
I was going to wait until the end of the weekend before posting this. Because I wanted to give you the opportunity to see Black Adam. Now that many of you have seen it, I wanted to formalize my return as Superman. The image you see in the post and what you saw in Black Adam are just a small taste of things to come. So there are many things I am grateful for and I will get to that in time, but most of all I want to thank you. Thank you for your support and your patience, which I promise will be rewarded.
So towards a Man of Steel 2? Time will tell, but rumor has it that Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad director James Gunn is in the process of directing it. A rumor that might be credible, as he is now the vice president and co-creative director of DC Studios.
