François Giannesini, a 55-year-old reserve officer, was attacked by two Rottweilers on Avenue de la Vaugine in Draguinan. He talks about the ordeal he experienced.
He was afraid for his life. In the middle of the run, a 50-year-old who lives in Draguignan was attacked by two Rottweilers who were walking off-leash near their owner, reports Was morning. If he made it out alive, he still has a very unpleasant memory of that day.
“I Gambled My Life”
“I didn’t see the owner,” he recalls. The man remembers doing everything to “not show his fear”. He tried to push the two mastiffs back, to no avail.
“I was dragged on the ground for several meters by the two dogs, yet I weigh 90 kilos. I still had the clarity to protect my neck and my face by sacrificing my forearms. Otherwise I would have died”, explains Francois. A few meters away, a neighbor allegedly described the animals as “wild animals”.
It is finally the owner of the dogs who comes to help him.
Admitted to the hospital and after spending several hours in the operating room, François emerges with several hundred stitches needed to treat the wounds.
An investigation was launched and the owner of the dogs was prosecuted for “involuntary harm”. The latter risks up to three years in prison and a fine of 15,000 euros.
The two mastiffs have currently returned to their master’s home, but a “biting dog” procedure has been opened by the district court, our colleagues detail.
