She walks along a river: in a few seconds, her dog’s destiny changes
The dog did not hesitate for a second to protect her owner.
Eva, a 2.5-year-old girl from Mechelen, died as a heroine. As the New York Post website tells, the dog died after defending her owner against the attack of a cougar.
“I tried everything to free her”
Last May, 24-year-old Erin Wilson and her dog were walking along California’s Trinity River when a mountain lion pounced on her. To protect her owner, Eva therefore intervened: “They fought for a few moments until I heard her cry. The cougar held her by the left side of her head. During the minutes that followed, I tried everything to free her.
The dog comes out of this fight with multiple injuries. She suffers from skull fractures, a flat tire and swelling in her left eye.
The dog died of her injuries.
On Instagram, Erin revealed terrible news: “We said goodbye at 9:20 this morning. There was no change in his condition. Goodbye my beautiful sweet daughter. You are my world, my light, my best friend. The world is a much darker place.”
