Bruno TERTRAIS. – Is it a complete failure? Remember that the primary goal of the commitment in Afghanistan was to prevent this country from continuing to be a platform for international terrorism. This objective was achieved and continues to be achieved. The Taliban regime is appalling but is not interested in becoming a haven for global jihadism again. And the country has not returned to the Stone Age. The development of infrastructures, that of education, of health, have left deep traces. And in the cities, there are few Afghans who regret the international intervention.
