For the very first time since the end of the trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, the actor’s lawyers have spoken.

It’s been a week since the world’s most watched trial ended and Amber Heard was found guilty defamation with malicious intent. The latter was thus ordered to pay the sum of 15 million dollars to Johnny Depp, including 10 million to compensate for the losses of the actor and 5 million for punitive damages. A sum finally reduced to 10.35 million dollars after rectification. The star actor of Pirates of the Caribbean will have to give $ 2 million to his ex-wife. Anyway, Johnny Depp relishes his victory.

The father of Lily-Rose and Jack Depp wanted to share a long message of thanks to his fans who have supported him from the start as well as to his two lawyers, Benjamin Chew and Camille Vasquez. Moreover, the latter have just spoken for the first time since the end of the trial. If they insinuated that Johnny Depp could not collect his payment of 10.35 million dollars because of the finances of Amber Heard, the latter would nevertheless be satisfied to have cleared his name: “We obviously cannot disclose attorney-client communications, but as Mr. Depp testified… it was never about the money for him” declared Benjamin Chew on the set of Good Morning America.

Camille Vasquez: “The evidence speaks for itself”

The lawyer who redoubled his efforts during the 7 week trial continued: “It was about restoring his reputation, and he did. It was a total victory for Johnny. » In turn, Camille Vasquez said: “The key to victory was focusing on the facts and the evidence, and Johnny’s opportunity to tell the truth for the first time. Each question asked was related to something she had said previously (…) We believe that the evidence speaks for itself. The jury reached a unanimous decision based on these facts. »
