LATEST NEWS! TEAM USA ANNOUNCES 2024 MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS LINEUP

Press Release: PICKERINGTON, Ohio (August 28, 2024) — A trio of top motocross riders will represent the United States at the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) 2024 Motocross of Nations, taking place April 4-6. October in Matterley Basin in Winchester, UK.

Leading the charge for the USA will be 2024 Pro Motocross 450 and 2023 AMA Supercross 450SX champion Chase Sexton, who will be joined by fellow AMA Supercross competitors Aaron Plessinger and Chance Hymas in the three-man event.

“This team has a shared mission to bring the United States back to the top of the podium on the world stage and will fight hard to achieve that goal,” said AMA Racing Director Mike Pelletier. “We have assembled three exceptional runners who are eager to represent their country. I can’t wait to see what we achieve this year as a team.

Chase Sexton 2024 Ironman National--7thFresh off his first 450 Pro Motocross Championship, Chase Sexton is excited to represent Team USA.

Sexton – who helped the USA win the 2022 Motocross of Nations title – will captain the US team this year and compete in the Stars and Stripes MXGP class.

“There is no greater honor than having the opportunity to show your true patriotism on the world stage and represent your country overseas,” Sexton said. “I’ve had the opportunity to be part of a winning American team before, and there’s no better feeling than standing on the podium wearing the red, white and blue. I’m lucky to have the chance to do it again this year with two great teammates.

“I couldn’t ask for a more America-loving teammate than Aaron, who I know will give his all as he has all season,” Sexton continued. “I know Chance well and he’s shown a lot of speed throughout the season so I’m looking forward to bonding with the boys and challenging for the top spot in the UK in a few weeks time.”

Plessinger returns to the Motocross of Nations for the second year in a row and will fight for honors in the open class.

Aaron Plessinger 2024 Ironman NationalAaron Plessinger finished third in the 450 championship with a strong 2-2 performance in the finals behind his teammate.

“Man, I love America!” I’m so glad they asked me to be a part of Team USA again. The past year has been bittersweet for me. Bitter that we didn’t win, but sweet because I was able to speak and show up with my American spirit on full display,” Plessinger said.

“This year I want redemption, and I just want to be sugaradded Plessinger. “I get to represent my country on the world stage with my teammate Chase, which is just awesome. And I can’t wait to get to know Chance even more and hope some of my Americana rubs off on him. Let’s go to the USA! »

Chance Hymas 2024 Ironman National

At just 19, Hymas is the youngest member of the team, but the importance of the event is not lost on the budding motocross star. Hymas will race for the USA in the MX2 class.

“It’s an honor to be chosen to represent Team USA this year. It’s been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember to race the Motocross of Nations,” said Hymas. “It means so much to have the support of Team Honda HRC and the AMA. I can’t thank Mike Pelletier enough for believing in me and giving me this opportunity to represent my country against the best in the world!

USA will once again be led by motocross legend and crew chief Roger DeCoster, who competed on six victorious FIM Motocross of Nations teams in the 1960s and ’70s crew chief for several AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross teams. DeCoster led the USA to 21 FIM Motocross of Nations team victories.

“I am delighted that we will be able to present another strong contingent of riders at this year’s Motocross of Nations 2024. All three riders were quick to sign up for the opportunity to represent their country and lead the red, white and blue flags for Team USA in Great Britain,” said Decoster. “Chase, Aaron and Chance all had extremely strong motocross seasons this year and earned their spots on the team.

“I want to thank Honda for answering the call and showing unwavering support for Chance’s first selection to the team and KTM for always supporting the nations effort,” continued DeCoster. “It is and should always be the greatest honor to represent your country on the international stage, and I have the utmost respect for any rider and team that rises to the challenge. With this group of three very patriotic and talented runners, I hope that we will be waving the American flag from the top of the podium this year.

Since 1947, the FIM Motocross of Nations has annually been among the world’s most important motorsport events – with national teams from around the world competing for motocross supremacy.
