Salomon Delay opens a bar-restaurant in Pertuis on Monday August 8 and relaunches a family business run for several generations by his family on the edge of the RN88.
The Jorance succeeds the Relais du Col d’Odile Rioufrait. After more than 20 years of closure, this former bar-hotel-restaurant of the Rioufrait family will reopen with Salomon who embodies a new generation and the future.
The project took shape in the former dance hall which served as a banquet hall for weddings and balls. A true local institution, this reopening will bring back good memories to all those who came to drink, eat, dance and party at Odile Rioufrait, welcoming and generous shopkeeper.
Two cook and pastry chef CAPs
Today, it is his grandson Salomon who takes over. Salomon, 25, arrived in France from Ethiopia when he was 10 years old. After his baccalaureate, he went into electrical engineering before getting involved in cooking, his lifelong passion, taking a CAP in cooking and continuing with a CAP in pastry at the ENSP in Yssingeaux. After various experiences in the mountains, he returns to the Col du Pertuis to take over this dormant family business and bring the same generosity as his grandmother.
Charcuterie boards in August, menus from September
From Monday, the Jorance will open every morning from 6 a.m. For the month of August, customers will be able to enjoy charcuterie and cheese platters, and salads, as well as desserts, in the room which can accommodate 60 people around period tables and on wooden chairs that are still just as good. robust. From September, once the work in the kitchen is finished, the chef will offer daily menus and an elaborate menu.
