Checkpoint opened on Monday July 11 at the bottom of Boulevard Carnot in Le Puy-en-Velay. It succeeds the Taverne du bon accueil.
Checkpoint is the new crossing point in Le Puy-en-Velay. Behind this term video game, we find a young couple, Samantha Holmes and Clément Narciso.
Samantha Holmes, 23, is from Chambon-sur-Lignon. After a professional baccalaureate in service to people and territories (SAPAT), she worked for a few months at the Salvation Army in Le Chambon before joining Le Puy-en-Velay in 2020 and becoming the mother of Rafael, today. now 6 months old, and who accompanies his parents in this commercial adventure.
Clément Narciso, 26 on the day of the opening, is a Ponot by birth. After three years at the Sabarot company, where he obtained a BTS in industrial maintenance, he worked for three years at Assistance Gaz.
80 games and consoles
The young couple has now taken on a new dimension by taking over a bar-restaurant in Le Puy. In addition to the bar and catering (snacking in summer, workers’ menu from September), they have reserved a room for games, their passion. There are two Arcade terminals with Pacman and Street Fighter games.
Remastered consoles
Several televisions, sofas and seats allow you to play around 80 games on Switch, PlayStation, Nintendo and remastered Atari.
The space is open for customers. One drink entitles you to one hour of play.
Checkpoint is open 7 days a week, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. (later closing on Friday and Saturday).
