From 2023, they will form in Zurich and Geneva one of the most important national law firms.

Niederer Kraft Frey and Tavernier Tschanz, joined by partners from Python, unite and, from 2023, will form one of the largest national ‘full service’ law firms. The firm will be present in Zurich and Geneva and intends to consolidate its leading position and develop in these two cities.

48 partners, 140 lawyers, and 220 associates in total

Firmly positioned in the two main economic centers of Switzerland, the Lake Geneva region and the ‘Greater Zurich Area’, NKF will benefit, in its new configuration, from the experience of its 48 partners and 140 lawyers, and will employ a total of around 220 employees.

NKF in Geneva will initially have around thirty lawyers, thus occupying a leading position in the market from the outset, with one of the largest and most renowned corporate and mergers and acquisitions teams in the market, as well as a highly experienced litigation/arbitration team. It will be managed by 11 partners (Jacques Bonvin, Nicolas de Gottrau, Myriam Fehr-Alaoui, Phidias Ferrari, Benjamin Humm, Marc Iynedjian, Nicolas Kuonen, Karim Piguet, Frank Spoorenberg, Boris Vittoz and Andrea Wuerzner). Pierre-Yves Tschanz, co-founder of Tavernier Tschanz, will also join the firm as an advisor.

NKF will occupy in Geneva, from the beginning of 2023 and after renovation, an entire building at 8 place de l’Université, in the historic center of the city.

From January 2023, NKF will offer its national and international clients, under one and the same banner, in Geneva and Zurich, high-level services and advice in all key areas of business law: corporate law/mergers -acquisitions, capital market, private equity/venture capital, banking, financial and regulatory law, litigation/arbitration, technology and intellectual property, real estate law, labor law, internal investigations, taxation and private clients.
