Saint-Malo: dogs are no longer allowed in the village of Route du Rhum

It is better to know this before arriving at the Route du Rhum 2022 village in Saint-Malo: dogs are no longer allowed since Friday 28 October 2022.

ONE prohibition which applies to both large and smaller dogs, including those carried in a bag or in the arms. Service dogs, on the other hand, are still accepted in the village.

“Because of the crowd”

This decision, which was made during the week, was made “due to the crowds”, to ensure the safety of the animals and the public.

ONE understandable precaution but which not only makes people happy, like Chantal and Jean-Pierre, who contacted our editors after being prevented “from entering the site with our little dog, although this is in no way indicated on the website”.

“We visited the village the previous three days without any problems and we extended our rental by three days”, explains the couple, who do not digest this “sudden” decision.

They were already banned in 2018

However, you should know that as early as 2018, the village was off-limits to dogs as soon as it opened. Four years later he was therefore tempted to take them in, but the first few days confirmed that dogs – and their leashes – at the harbor could be a problem.

In light of an even larger audience this weekend, the organizing committee, which brings together the event’s various partners, has therefore chosen to be cautious.
