A 24-year-old man was brought before the court Man’s (Sarthe), Monday 16 January 2023for injuring his dog serious abuse and atrocities in La Flèche and to threaten the lives of the gendarmes.
On Thursday, January 12, 2023, the gendarmes in La Flèche received a call from two people who told them that a man who lived on rue Carnot in La Flèche was violent towards his dog.
“Go away! I don’t feel like killing cops today”
A patrol of two gendarmes quickly arrives at the scene. They hear the man inside abusing his dog. They knock on the door. The man opens the door, attacks them, firing them in particular: “Go away, I don’t want to kill cops today” before continuing “I want to kill everyone”.
The intoxicated man closes the door on the gendarmes and goes back to beating his dog…
Dog sticks
When the reinforcements arrive, the two gendarmes hear the scream of pain from the dog, which is being mistreated.
The man started stabbing his dog, a Beauceron, violently. The animal suffers stab wounds of such violence (including one in the spine) that the knife breaks.
The man was eventually arrested by the police.
Placed in police custody, he disputes the facts and claims to be the victim of a blunder by the gendarmes … whom he accuses of stabbing his dog!
“I have nothing at all”
In front of the court, the defendant, rather tall, regular features, brown brown hair, long and beard of the same color, dressed in a red jogging suit and a black vest, told about his social situation in a clear voice. nothing at all, no family, no money, no clothes”.
Placed from the age of 5, marginal, after living on the streets, known to the courts (especially for narcotic acts), he nevertheless refuses any benefit that could improve his living conditions. “I don’t take advantage of the state,” he says proudly.
“I’d rather be an animal myself”
He said he had a close relationship with his dog and considered himself a dog. “Why?” The judge then asks him, “because I prefer to be an animal myself” he calmly replies.
Asked about his alcohol consumption, he defended himself “I am a drug addict not an alcoholic”.
Maitre Jennifer Neveu, the defendant’s lawyer requested a dismissal, a psychiatric evaluation and placement under judicial supervision.
Psychiatric expertise
The court granted the motion for adjournment and adjourned the hearing until February 14, 2023. The court also ordered a psychiatric evaluation and placed the defendant on judicial supervision pending the hearing.
