Investing.com – US: Stock markets ended the session lower on Monday; the decrease in , , and the sectors contributed to this decrease.
At the close on the NYSE, the index was down 0.77%, while the index was down 1.30% and the index was down 1.96%.
The best performance of the session for the index is attributed to the title Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE: ) rose 1.06% or 3.76 points to trade at 357.46. In the second position we find Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE: ) which gained 1.01% or 0.41 points to close at 41.05. The title International Business Machines (NYSE: ) completed this top three with an increase of 0.68% or 0.91 points to end the session at . 135.30.
Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: ) was the worst performer of the session, losing 3.70% or 6.23 points to close at 162.00. Chevron Corp (NYSE: ) declined 2.93% or 5.25 points to end at 174.20. On the other hand, 3M Company (NYSE: ) declined 2.32% or 2.67 points to trade at 112.58 at the close.
The top performers of the S&P 500 index go to Cincinnati Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: ), which gains 5.77% to a price of 111.52, AutoZone Inc (NYSE: ) up 2.50% to 2.00 and O’Reilly Automotive Inc (NASDAQ: ) gained 2.39% to close at 789.63.
The worst performers were Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: ), which fell 6.32% to 166.66 at the close, NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: ), which lost 5.91% to 191.62 and Modern Inc (NASDAQ: ), down 4.48% to close at 180.87.
The best performers of the NASDAQ Composite index go to Heart Test Laboratories Inc Unit (NASDAQ: ), which gains 170.08% at a price of 2.35, G Medical innovations Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ: ) rose 80.33% to 5.41 and Blackboxstocks Inc (NASDAQ: ) rose 64.30% to close at 0.71.
The worst performing values are CN Energy Group Inc (NASDAQ: ) fell 72.86% to 0.59 at the close, BuzzFeed Inc (NASDAQ: ) which lost 29.20% to 2.74 and Bridger Aerospace Group Holdings Inc (NASDAQ: ), down 25.16 % to 9.31 at the close.
Declining stocks outpaced advancing stocks on the New York Stock Exchange by 2135 values to 899 and 125 flat; on the NASDAQ, 2532 values fell and 1213 rose, 158 remained unchanged.
The CN Energy Group Inc (NASDAQ: ) stock dipped to an all-time low after decreasing 72.86% or 1.58 points to trade at 0.59.
The index, which measures the implied volatility of options on the S&P 500 index, rose 7.73% to 19.94.
On the other hand, gold for delivery in February fell 0.37% or 7.10 points to $1.00 per troy ounce. Among other commodities, Crude for March delivery was down 2.45% or 1.95 points at $77.73 a barrel, while Brent for April delivery lost 2.36% or 2.04 points at a price at $84.36 per barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% at 1.09, while USD/JPY was up 0.45% at 130.43.
The US Dollar Index rose 0.32% to 102.04.
