The Allianz France accelerator explores the metaverse

Based at the Allianz Riviera stadium in Nice, has selected 5 start-ups for its 13th campaign (Fall Batch #22): Legapass, Gandee, OpenGem, Osol, Workadventure. These start-ups have been selected for their role as scouts for innovation trends at the service of Allianz France and its customers:

For this new campaign, the Allianz France accelerator jury, made up of representatives of Allianz France, selected five startups in web3, “tech for good” and the future of work, from a shortlist, very diverse international.

For 6 months, the accelerated start-ups benefit from a network of experts and mentors, funding sources and leading French and international investors, and structured and personal support focused on fundraising and international development. Startups can also be offered a strategic partnership with Allianz, or test their solution internationally, thanks to the group’s global presence in more than 70 countries.

Gandee (https://www.gandee.com/) is a Solidarity As A Service solution that allows SMEs to easily engage in CSR programs and solidarity schemes for the benefit of trusted associations via turnkey solutions.

Legapass (https://legapass.com/) provides a solution to the unsolved problem of the succession of digital heritage. Legapass is an ultra-secure platform where users can insert their passwords to guarantee that their cryptocurrencies, NFTs, other digital assets, but also their photos can be fully recovered by their next of kin in the event of death.

OpenGem (https://opengem.com/) is a standard for securing NFTs. OpenGem provides tools for users and developers to audit and secure ownership of digital NFTs’ assets.

Osol (https://www.osol.co/) is an impact startup that has developed the first network of mobile chargers (smart batteries) capable of removing a large part of the cables from work environments. They help improve the hybrid work experience for employees while optimizing real estate, power and IT costs, as well as employee productivity.

Workadventure (https://workadventu.re/) (Metaventure (https://metadventu.re/)) is an open platform for creating virtual desktops and metaverses. The technology enables metaverses to be lightweight, high performance and accessible from any device in the world to bring people together without creating new borders.

“The accelerator continues to explore innovation topics and launches in the metaverse and web3 with startups responding to security or transmission issues, important topics for an insurance company, but also a pragmatic use of the metaverse to facilitate work in hybrid mode. The future of work remains a key theme for Allianz France, a pioneer in new ways of working”, says Sylvain Theveniaud, director of the Allianz France accelerator.

A Startup In Residence program that bears fruit:

The accelerator launched a “Startup in Residence” program several years ago. These startups from abroad develop within the accelerator and share their culture and experience with the accelerated startups. The program welcomes major gold nuggets such as the American startup Zendoc, which offers artificial intelligence for contract management. Zendoc has just been acquired by the Indian unicorn Sirion Labas, whose capital includes recognized investors such as Sequoia Capital and Tiger Global and which manages more than 5 million contracts worth more than 450 billion dollars in more than 70 countries. Through the acquisition of Zendoc, Sirion Labs is establishing a center of excellence in research and development in Nice, the second in the world after Canada.

An undeniable acceleration dynamic and a developing program:

The accelerator program has enabled several fundraisers since the previous batch: Citalid in cyber security raises €12M and indoor air quality specialist CozyAir closes a new €1.5M fundraiser.

As part of the “cross innovation” program, at the heart of the accelerator’s DNA, and as part of the development of the partnership for health startups with Villa M, Wemed joined the first iMpulsion acceleration program.

In addition, the alumni network plays an important role in promoting acquisitions. After the acquisition of Finsquare in October 2016, MyCoach, one of the startups of the first batch of the accelerator, bought Joinly, the startup of the last batch, this operation consolidates the assets of the two companies and strengthens the offer of digital services to the French sports movement .

Finally, to adapt the program to the new needs of startups, a masterclass designed around the transition to the mission-based company and designed in collaboration with the new activity of the RAISE group in Nice completes the already very rich program of the accelerator.. This moment of sharing and teaching will make startups aware of the issues of commitment and social mission, key in relation to positioning and in customers’ purchasing decisions.
