If Prince Harry’s popularity rating in the UK was already half way up, the documentary series on Netflix will not have helped, according to a new poll.
Has the point of no return been reached? For almost three years, the British and the rest of the world have followed with more or less attention upheavals in the royal family. In March 2020, Prince Harry, his wife Meghan Markle and their son Archie left the royal family, ending their official engagements. Since then, the couple’s speeches and developments in the press, particularly during their interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, have continued to tarnish their image to subjects of the crown.
In early December, Netflix began airing the documentary series Harry and Meghan where the two main characters talk again. Dedicated to restoring the truth, this did not help the son of King Charles III. According to a YouGov poll conducted for Times44% of those polled now think Harry should to be stripped of his royal titleagainst 32% of the opposite view. 23% of those polled said they had a worse impression of Harry and Meghan since watching the series. Only 7% admit to having a better perception of the couple.

Harry and Meghan soon definitively excluded from royalty?
“I think it’s unlikely that the King will strip the Duke of Sussex of his title because it would make it look like he and Prince William are doing the same sort of things as Harry and Meghan.”said author Tom Quinn Times. But in early December, reminds MirrorBob Seely, Conservative MP for the Isle of Wight, has revealed that he plans to introduce a bill in the UK Parliament to strip the royal titles from the couple. According to him, the situation had become one “political problem”. “While he ridicules his family and exploits his misfortune for the public good, he also attacks some of our country’s most important institutions”he said.
