This is the first in Le Havre (Seine-Maritime). Alexandra, who since July 2023 has led an animal porter Wooflh decided to organize one unusual event on the occasion of Pink October: a walk off dogs, Saturday 12 October 2024 between 10.00 and 12.30.
All donations will be donated to the fight against cancer.
“I called the league, they immediately said yes”
Her loved ones have or are going to stand up for Pink October and Alexandra, for her part, wondered how one could also participate in the traditional collection in October.
“I got this idea to walk a dog with roses one evening. I called the Cancer League the next morning and… they immediately said yes, I admit I was a bit surprised myself,” explains Alexandra.
How does it work?
The organizer insists that the rules must be observed. “It is not an assembly or a march that we want to do as a group. The principle is between 10.00 and 12.30, we meet whenever you want in front of LH Havnecenter, if you can wear a gadget or a pink outfit with your dog, that’s perfect, otherwise some will also be available at the time. »
The participants (well their champions) have to pay 5 euros, “but any higher donation is welcome”. And then it’s time to go to the beach: “Everyone wants to walk the distance they want with their dog. »
Although crowded, the beach is long and wide, so there won’t be any safety issues. However, all dogs must be kept on a short leash,
Other marches planned
The donation box will be opened in the presence of the Seine-Maritime Cancer League, Monday 14 October 2024. “All donations will be donated to the fight against cancer,” promises Alexandra.
And if it works well, the latter aims to organize a blue walk for Autism Day and a red one for Hemophilia Day.
