The family group buys the American cookie and biscuit specialist Back to Nature.

More than one hundred and forty-five years after its creation in Parma, Barilla continues its conquest of the world. On Friday, the Italian pasta giant announced that it had entered into an agreement with the American B&G Foods to acquire its bakery brand Back to Nature.

Founded in California in 1960, it markets GMO-free granolas, cookies, crackers, nuts and hazelnuts, mainly in channels specializing in natural products. With approximately 50 million dollars in revenue (47 million euros), Back to Nature is a small acquisition for the Italian giant with 3.9 billion euros in revenue. “It allows us to diversify our presence in the United States, as we have done in many markets. The idea is to have two pillars: one on pasta and sauces, the other on bakery»explains Miloud Benaouda, who manages all of Western Europe for Barilla.
