If felines generally like to be up, this one must have been pretty scared when he saw the emptiness under his paws.

This black cat must have had the fright of his life. After getting lost on a bridge, he found himself suspended over the void. Fortunately, a motorist spotted him and notified a local shelter. But the cat’s survival was not yet guaranteed because the rescue was very dangerous. A story told by KHON 2.

An escape that almost ended badly

It’s on the island of HawaiiOh that this extraordinary rescue took place. It all started when a 2-year-old black cat ran away from home and decided to go for a walk around the area.

During his escapade, the animal ended up on a highway that crossed a bridge. Probably frightened by the speeding cars, he had to jump on the low wall of the bridge to avoid being crushed. But while fleeing from danger, the cat found itself in an equally delicate situation. He was installed at the foot of a lamppost, itself suspended over the cavity.

At least the feline had the good reflexes not to try dangerous things. He preferred to stay quiet and wait for someone to help him.

A motorist spotted the struggling cat

Fortunately, an alert driver spotted the struggling little black ball. He contacted a local shelter, the Hawaiian Humane Society. A volunteer quickly arrived on the scene. When he discovered the cat, he understood how delicate his mission was. We had to act quickly, but avoid malpractice. The slightest false step and the cat risked falling.

With great care, the volunteer managed to rescue the cat from this dangerous situation. He then drove him to the shelter. On the spot, they could easily establish that the cat was chipped.

The owners could be contacted and were relieved to find their animals safe.
