Events’com announces 36 breeders present divided among 39 exhibitors, for a total of 684 puppies in exhibition sale and 103 kittens. Indicative figures, as there can always be absences at the last minute. 41 dog breeds would thus be present, from beagle to rottweiler, past the Shiba or Jack Russel, as well as eight cat breeds (Abyssinian, Siberian, Bengal…).
Animal welfare
It should be noted that the latest developments in the legislation oblige candidates for the acquisition of a dog or cat to sign in advance a certificate of commitment and knowledge, by which they acknowledge being aware of their responsibility towards the animal. Sale of equipment and snacks also on site.
A commercial arrangement that is not to everyone’s taste. On Facebook, Animalist Collective La Rochelle is calling for a meeting on the spot, this Sunday, at 2 p.m., for an action to increase awareness among visitors. Under the slogan “stop animal marketing”, which aims to fight animal cruelty, it is a matter of encouraging visitors to adopt abandoned animals collected from shelters rather than “shopping in express” at specialized fairs.
Kevin Blaison, manager of Events’com, wants to be reassuring: “We apply a strict health protocol and a vet will be on site to check that each animal is in good health. Our dogs and cats are also double vaccinated before arrival at the exhibition and our breeders are carefully selected”.
