After months of rumour, the emblematic Lyon restaurant La Mère Brazier is changing air.

Two-star chef Mathieu Viannay told Lyon Peoplehaving sold the majority of its stakes in the capital of La Mère Brazier and Epiceries-Comptoirs on May 17.

Mathieu Viannay, best worker in France in 2004, retains co-management of the group and simultaneously becomes the ambassador. The chef said he would continue to spend 70% of his time around La Mère Brazier. The two men plan to be able to develop things in viticulture, hotels and around grocery stores with openings in Paris and Bordeaux. An operation he defines as “capitalistic and industrial” for the sole purpose of “reinforce each other”.

The founding president of the EPSA group also bought the shares of Olivier Ginon, the president of GL events, a shareholder since 2012.
