the SPA records a new abandonment, a week after the puppy show

A three-month-old Bordeaux mastiff was dropped off at the SPA in Mulhouse on Saturday. A first puppy had already been abandoned the day after the show.

“And it continues…” A week after the Puppy Show held in Mulhouse, the SPA recorded a second abandonment.

A Bordeaux mastiff bought at the show and officially three months old was dropped off at the SPA in Mulhouse on Saturday. But the healers of the refuge “estimate his age less than that”, specifies the SPA on his Facebook account.

The animal also has kennel cough, a highly contagious respiratory infection for dogs.

A puppy abandoned the day after the show

Last week, the day after the Puppy Show, the SPA had recorded a first abandonment. A bichon frize, bought at the event and dropped off by two people who had described him as “turbulent” and “untenable in the evening”.

A situation against which the municipality of Mulhouse had warned before the holding of the show, which it accuses of facilitating impulsive purchases of animals.

“A puppy is not a commodity to be bought, but an animal to be adopted!” declared the mayor Michèle Lutz.

Especially since the Mulhouse SPA had already drawn up a worrying report of animal abandonments during the summer, listing 131 puppies and 139 cats collected between June 1 and September 15.

About ten days after the Puppy Show, she unfortunately expects to welcome new animals. “When’s the next abandonment?” she laments on social networks.
