Needless to say, a jaguar is not a pet. But it is true that many of these magnificent animals need the help of rescuers to survive, especially if they lose their mother when they are just babies. The jaguar is the only one of the current five species of this genus found on the American continent.

It is also the largest feline in the Americas and the third largest in the world after the tiger and the lion. The meeting between a jaguar and a helpless puppy is making a lot of noise on the internet.

This was the case with a giant jaguar named Jag. Rescuers from Akwaaba Lodge in South Africa found him when he was only a few days old. The poor cat was all alone and clearly needed protection. The jaguar is a solitary animal, where adults generally only meet for courtship and mating.

In the world, it is surpassed in size by only two of its congeners: tigers and lions. Fortunately, this organization specializes in wildlife and had everything needed to give Jag the care he desperately needed. There have been anecdotal reports of socialization.

He showed his rescuers how happy and grateful he was. I have formed a very special relationship with them. When he was young, he even slept in their bed and woke them from time to time to receive a bottle.

Their roar often sounds like a repeated cough; they can also emit meows and growls.

The rescuers knew that the time would come when Jag would grow up and start living in the sanctuary’s large enclosures. What was most concerning was knowing that this sweet cat was very sociable and that he did not want to be left alone.

A strict carnivore, it is a solitary and opportunistic hunter and its diet includes over 80 different species.

It was then that the organization got the idea to present him with a puppy: Bullet. This adorable dog was also very friendly, and despite Jag’s innate hunting nature, one of the rescuers imagined that they could become good friends.

The jaguar prefers large prey such as tapirs, peccaries and deer, but it also hunts caimans and anacondas and does not rule out feeding on frogs, birds or fish.

The result was much better than they had expected. After only a few hours, Jag seemed to be Bullet’s best friend. They could spend the whole day playing and running around the sanctuary.

The jaguar enjoyed his years with his best friend, but as he continued to grow, rescuers feared the cat would one day harm him. When the time came, they tried to start separating them, but the result left them in shock.

I cried non-stop every time they tried to separate him from Bullet. The poor cat felt very lonely and did nothing but squeak and wait for his friend. Also, to their amazement, his best friend was never far behind.

The rescuers tried repeatedly to pull them away from each other, but Bullet escaped as soon as he could to return to the jaguar and continue his long play sessions. no choice but to quit: Bullet and Jag were destined to be good friends and share life as much as possible.

Despite his enormous size, Jag still treats his friend Bullet with great kindness. Moreover, the adorable dog seems to be the leader of this curious friendship that has fascinated and impressed so many people.
