They took in a kitten who climbed right into their arms, knowing his life was about to get a lot easier.

While tending to a colony of cats, Sam, an animal rescuer, noticed a gray kitten with an injured lip. She sprang into action and brought the little guy to safety.
The kitten, with a stench wafting from its mouth, was in desperate need of medical attention. Andrea Christian, a fellow animal rescuer and carer, answered the call to help and welcomed the kitten (Sawyer) into her care.
After weeks of roaming the streets, Sawyer took his first steps into a home.

When he was home, he climbed into his foster mother’s arms for cuddles. His sweet nature and joie de vivre quickly won over everyone in the house.
“I reached out to a friend who volunteers at one of the local rescue groups (AnimalLuvr’s Dream Rescue). She immediately made a plan and implemented the plan,” Andrea shared.

They arranged surgery to repair Sawyer’s lip. Soon he was back on his feet and eagerly devouring his treats. Before long he was playing and running as if nothing had happened.
Even with a cone, Sawyer continued his endless adventures without letting anything slow him down.

He was always in good spirits, kept busy and constantly on the lookout for mischief.
Seeing another playpen set up for another kitten, he promptly climbed on top of the enclosure and paraded along the edge to investigate the room. Excited about his new life, the fearless little guy lived it up, cone or no cone.

As soon as his foster mother sat down, he climbed onto her lap for a cuddle session.
Once he was free of his cone, he rolled merrily on the floor and wrestled with anything he could get his paws on. A button covered his stitches to protect his skin, but it never bothered him. “He’s been the best little patient.”

After about two weeks in foster care, Sawyer fully recovered and blossomed into an adventurous spirit. He scaled cat trees, jumped onto windowsills and snuggled his way into the hearts of everyone he met.
“I can’t express how playful, silly, loving and relaxed this beautiful boy has become. He is a dream boy.”

Sawyer loves all his toys, but is especially fond of his purple catnip mouse, which he carries with him everywhere. “Sawyer and the sprinkle mouse are a bonded pair. He is the kitten’s greatest love and very well behaved.”
“He loves toys, but what he loves most are people. He enjoys their company, warm laps and gentle strokes.”

Sawyer has grown into a happy, playful, plump young cat. He is always up for something and never misses a chance to cuddle with his people.
“He’s a little guy with a big heart. He’s full of curiosity and love. He’s the type to explore every corner, every nook. He’s gentle and kind, always ready to greet you with a soft purr and a playful paw.”

“If ever there was a Christmas carol to match a kitten’s personality, it would be Sawyer and Carol of the Bells. He’s full of energy, excitement, and snuggles. His emotions and antics resonate with you like a song.”
