This cat has been abandoned twice
All Jacque wanted was to be loved. Unfortunately, things are not always so simple…
In May 2016, when Jacque was around 7 months old, her first owner moved away and decided not to take her with him. This is how the tomcat was simply left in the empty house and found by the real estate agent who then dropped him off at a shelter. A truly cruel abandonment.
As often, the shelter was already overcrowded and no one paid the slightest attention to Jacque who was then placed on the list of animals to be euthanized. Fortunately for him, fate decided otherwise.
A nice meeting
When Nancy Hutchinson, founder and president of Michigan Cat Rescue, met Jacque’s gaze, she immediately fell under his spell and decided to help him. After some research, Nancy even finds a forever family for this magnificent cat who only asks for cuddles all day long.
But nothing went as planned…
A 2nd retirement
After a year spent with Jacque, his new mistress wants to get rid of him. Why ? Quite simply because the tomcat constantly asks for hugs and spends a lot of time on his knees! A pretty incredible excuse. The whole shelter was stunned, especially since the woman had specifically asked for a very cuddly cat during the adoption…
“She just got fed up…”
When Jacque returned to the shelter, he was visibly distressed – and he ended up getting very sick. For several days, the cat, stressed by the situation, refuses to eat and begins to lose strength… A rather worrying situation for everyone.
Once the cat was back on its feet, the shelter started looking for a family again, being even more attentive.
Today, Jacque lives in her new forever home alongside a couple who are totally under her spell. The tomcat even got a new first name: Giuseppe! A beautiful future full of sweetness now opens up to him.
