A cat that used to rule the block now rules the house and lives the life of her dreams.

Volunteers at The Stray Cat Club have worked tirelessly to help local cat colonies, rescue strays from the streets and find them good homes.
They were alerted to a small colony of cats that had made a garden their home. After days of dedicated efforts, they were able to save most of the cats. About a week later, they caught the remaining three, including the big tom.
“Meet Ranger, our beloved tabby cat who once had to fend for herself and the father of a small colony of nine kittens (several litters and mothers),” the Stray Cat Club shared.

Ranger was scared and nervous as his world suddenly changed. Instinctively, he wanted to fend for himself, just as he always had. A loving foster family opened their home to him and began to socialize him. Retiring from being the neighborhood tom and defending his territory, he entered a new chapter as a beloved house cat.
With a quiet room, unlimited food, and lots of cozy blankets, Ranger began to trust, especially with the help of treats.

His eyes lit up at the sight of food and with treats as motivation he began to let his guard down. He associated his people with happy moments, he gradually warmed to them, greeted them with purrs and loving glances. He was no longer worried about his next meal, but the once cuddly cat was really filling out.
As he became more confident around his people, he spent more time with them and let his true personality come out.

When Ranger decided to trust and accept affection, he became a love bug. He crawled onto his human’s lap one day and found his new favorite perch. With his spinning engine running, he became the perfect little companion.
“The big, handsome boy is discovering the comfort of a loving home. He’s a professional snuggler who lives for close companionship. He’s happiest curled up on your lap or by your side for a peaceful snooze.”

“Food is Ranger’s other passion. His love of treats has even helped him learn a few tricks – he can sit, purr and paw.”
Although he is still figuring out toys, he enjoys engaging with people, especially when food is involved. After leaving his street life behind and finding the security he always wanted, he fully embraces his new life and his gentle and loyal spirit shines through.

Ranger loves to relax on the sofa or his human’s bed, curled up on his back with his front paws tucked into his chest. Relaxed and comfortable, he even appears to smile while sleeping.
He has blossomed into a majestic cat adorned with beautiful markings and a soft, shiny coat. “He really is such a handsome boy. Photos don’t do him justice.”

Realizing that he was safe and had everything he had ever wanted, Ranger began following his people, claiming everything he touched and ruling the house like a king.
Thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers, all the cats from the small colony have been rescued, sterilized and neutered. Like the Ranger, they will never have to spend a day roaming outside fighting for survival. They will always have the comfort of a loving home.
