It’s moving at Cartridge factory ! Creation of a gigantic gourmet hall, opening of new shops, brand new housing… This district of Toulouse has experienced remarkable growth for several years. On Monday, June 13, a newcomer took up residence in the Wood’Art tower : I’Hotel Eklo and its restaurant.
A place of life in its own right
Designed in 2017, this new establishment occupies the first five floors of this 76-meter-high wooden tower with award-winning architecture for its insulation and low energy consumption.
Opposite line 1 of the tramway and close to many public facilities such as the Zénith de Toulouse, the Eklo hotel aims to become a place of life in its own right of this 33 hectare district thought to become a new urban center on the left bank of the Garonne. Many businesses have also set up in recent months in this eco-district, which is only 15 minutes from Place du Capitole.
100 rooms
Since its opening, this new hotel has offered 100 rooms divided into different categories. New generation room with optimized space (duo or solo), family rooms (up to 4 people), backpackers (dormitories)… the Eklo hotel is for everyone, including with its large common areas (300 m² ).
Whether to work (a cozy workspace has been designed) or to relax (coffee, aperitif, cocktail, etc.), the establishment offers many spaces to find what you want.
Grocery, musical programming…
In addition to all these services, the hotel chain which already has six establishments in France (Le Havre, Le Mans, Lille, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand and Marne-la-Vallée) has also thought of installing a grocery store where you can find local, organic and gourmet products, craft beers and wines from the region.
From July, Hotel Eklo will also offer an evening musical programme.
A restaurant accessible to all
The restaurant welcomes customers of the establishment as well as residents of Toulouse. All kinds of dishes are on offer, from poke bowls to burgers, butcher’s cuts and salads.
The supply circuits are designed in an ultra-short format: fruits and vegetables are grown in Occitanie and distributed by Sud-Ouest Primeurs, a family business based in Haute-Garonne. Meat and poultry from France are prepared by Alex and Tom, a family butcher in the Saouzelong district. The breads, brioches or buns for the burgers come from the neighborhood bakery, just opposite the hotel. Ditto for alcoholic beverages mostly from local productions.
“All the restaurant’s bio-waste is collected by Les Alchimistes, a Toulouse association specializing in the recovery and composting of food waste. »
