A Texan mother adopted 2 dogs, who turned out to be brothers, years apart. She then helped their sister find a loving home. All were at risk of being euthanized. An incredible story, told by People.
Jennifer Butler reside Greenville in the state of Texas, and works in a veterinary practice. In 2013, a puppy was brought there, discovered alone in a field. The person who had rescued the young canine could not keep him, because he already had dogs at home. She also didn’t want to take him to a shelter for fear of being euthanized.
The employee of the animal clinic had then decided to adopt her herself that day. She called him Benjamin.
In 2018 she came across photos posted on Facebookshowing a dog looking like 2 drops of water at bennie (diminutive of Benjamin). Jennifer Butler couldn’t believe it; she had the impression of seeing her twin. She followed his evolution, and the day she learned that he had just been put on the list of animals to be euthanized, she adopted him, too.

Leonard – that’s the name she chose for him – suffered from skin and respiratory infections, as well as heartworm disease, in addition to an injury to his hind leg. He was treated, sterilized and vaccinated before joining Jennifer Butler and bennie.
The latter was initially somewhat suspicious of her, but after a few days they became inseparable. Jennifer Butler knew deep down that they were at least related, but wanted confirmation.
She got it with a DNA test, which revealed that there was indeed a relationship between bennie and Leonard (affectionately called Lenny), and that they were most likely even part of the same litter.
Their mistress tells People that their resemblance is such that its colleagues at the veterinary clinic cannot yet distinguish them visually. We have used the color code of their collars to facilitate their identification “.

After Bennie’s brother, his sister found and saved too
5 years later, the refuge where Jennifer Butler had adopted Lenny published the photo of another canine resembling them, a female this time. Incredulous, she learned that this dog, responding to the name of Penelopewas also at risk of being euthanized.
Unable to adopt him, but determined to save his life, she opened the doors of her home to him as a foster mother. New DNA test and new confirmation after a few weeks; Penelope is the sister of bennie and Lenny.
The dog met her brothers, with whom she got along perfectly. Soon after, a forever loving family was found for her.
