Grandpa Samy is Mickaël and David’s grandfather. The brothers, already at the helm of the two Italian restaurants Bufalino (in Balma and Saint-Jean), have just opened a new restaurant in the heart of Toulousewhich bears the nickname of their ancestor.
Revisit the dumplings
“Our grandfather was an epicurean,” says David. A great lover of good tables, we wanted to pay tribute to him. »

In memory of their grandfather, David and Mickaël have chosen to cook… dumplings! “Anything is possible with the dumpling,” smiles David. And indeed, the two brothers showed creativity for the menu of this new restaurant oriented street food.

Pastrami and choulette sandwiches
“Prices range from 9.50 euros up to 17 euros for a formula with drink and dessert, explains David. Everything is homemade with French products. The menu will change each season.
In addition to meatballs, you can also enjoy pastrami sandwiches and “choulettes”, Grandpa Samy’s signature dessert. ” Those are cabbage stuffed with vanilla mascarpone cream home,” David explains. They are served with a homemade red fruit, salted butter caramel or chocolate coulis and a topping of your choice. »

Nice cellar in the basement
This new street-food brand, located rue des Filatiers, is open from Monday to Saturday for lunch and dinner, with a few places upstairs and a pretty cellar in the basement. Meals can also be taken away and Papy Samy is available on the various delivery platforms.
