Lman’s best friend, definitely. Whether in the day-to-day assistance of people with motor disabilities or visual impairments or in the emotional support provided to people with psychotic or autistic disorders or post-traumatic stress, dogs have long demonstrated their extraordinary capacity for empathy. Many masters also experience it on a daily basis when, stressed by a trying day or a tense meeting, they are spontaneously comforted by their pet.
