Quint-Fonsegrives. Back from Sologne, and already ready to go

To take advantage of the beautiful days of the Indian summer, a group of about twenty QFA members, led by its president Christiane Soler, went to Sologne very recently. They traveled early in the morning by coach from Fonsegrives, arriving in the late afternoon at the resort town of La Ferté-Imbault, set in the heart of a lavish estate, where meals, accommodation and a lively evening awaited them.

The next morning they went to Saint-Viâtre to visit its church, its winding bell tower, its caquetoir, the 15th century chafau and its typical regional houses in the Solognot countryside. In the afternoon, departure to the Quincy ACOC winery since 1936, located in the heart of Berry and extending over 180 hectares, fifteen different wines are produced in the cellar, where a tasting took place in moderation.

On the third day you can visit the Beauval Zoo, one of the most spectacular in Europe with its 4,000 animals, including the only giant pandas in France in a 22-hectare park. Fourth day, visit Château de Chenonceau, the jewel of the Loire Valley with its Renaissance architecture, then Château d’Amboise, medieval fortress, royal residence during the reigns of Charles VIII and François 1. On the fifth and final day of the adventure, you can visit the Matra Museum, where around fifty vehicles retell the story of this great manufacturer, F1 World Champion in 1969. Our Fonsegrivois returned to Fonsegrives in the evening tired but happy, ready to raise the sails for a new journey, because at QFA, as you know, we have lifted our feet!
