The hungriest inhabitants of Montluçon will perhaps have noticed the appearance of a small panel, at the exit of the Carrefour car park, in the Saint Jacques shopping center. A poster of works that should delight many gourmets in the Bourbon city. After McDonalds and Burger King, Montluçon (Allier) will soon have a new fast food. L’KFC sign will come to settle right next to its competitors.
A highly anticipated arrival in Montluçon. In 2011, a Facebook page, bringing together more than 2,600 people, was already calling for the installation of Kentucky Fries Chicken (KFC) in the city. But the fast food chain took a long time to reach the Bourbonnais. A first restaurant opened its doors to Mills, mid-may. The biggest fans of Colonel Sanders, muse of the brand, were therefore able to take their cars to find their favorite fast food.
An opening at the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023
Contacted, KFC France hopes to open the Montluçon restaurant for December 2022, even if it is still “a little early to say so”. After more than ten years of waiting, the inhabitants of Montluçon only have a few months to endure before they can satisfy their cravings for Tenders (chicken sticks) or Hot Wings (chicken wings).
Arrived late in France, the firm had only a hundred restaurants across the country in 2010. Today, there are nearly 300 KFCs that criss-cross France. Known worldwide for its fried chicken recipes, which are a little more expensive than its competitors, the KFC brand is banking on an image of “gourmet fast food”. An offer presented as significantly different from McDonalds or even Burger King, which will expand the offer of fast food of the department.
Good news also for the Allier employment pool. In Moulins, around forty positions have been created. The number of places to be filled in Montluçon has not yet been announced, but there is no doubt that the restaurant will need Bourbonnais muscles to meet demand.
