A family opened their home to two shelter kittens and quickly noticed how deeply they trusted each other.
Wellie and WallyFrankie
Two cat brothers, Wellie (tabby) and Wally (black) arrived at Best Friends Animal Society (in LA), hoping for a chance at a better life.
Wellie was nervous and confused, shaking in the corner of the kennel. His brother, Wally, was calm and more playful, even with a broken eye. “They had some flea dirt on them, which made me think they were most likely found outside before being taken to a shelter,” Frankie, their foster mother, shared with Love Meow.
Shortly after arriving at their foster home, their behavior changed, especially Wellie’s.
Frankie
“They started to feel at home and comfortable soon after coming into care. Wellie went from anxious to the cutest boy knowing he was in a safe place.”
He fired up his purring engine, regained his squeaky meow, and eagerly sought attention. Within days he transformed from a quivering kitten to a spinning machine.

“Wellie has become a little puddle of hugs and purrs. He is always the first to greet me with friendly meows and coziness. He radiates love and is no longer afraid, but instead a social butterfly who loves to be loved. “
Meanwhile, Wally remained cool as a cucumber, completely unfazed by his eye treatment.
Frankie
“I am amazed at his resilience. Wally carries on as if nothing is wrong and is the happiest boy, playing with his brother without a care in the world and full of happy purrs.”
Wellie showers Wally with putters and playfully holds him down with both arms to clean his face.

The two share an inseparable bond – you won’t see one without the other. As partners in mischief, they frolic around the room and incite all sorts of antics. Once worn out, they curl up and fall asleep.
“I love a good squeak, but the purr when Wellie wraps around her brother is my favorite part.”

Wellie seeks out her brother and makes sure he’s always around. Wally leans into Wellie for comfort, often resting his head on him like a pillow
“They love to nap on my lap, play-fight, climb on their scratching post and pet each other. I can’t imagine a more picture-perfect couple to complete a home and family.”
Frankie
When Wally was old enough, his left eye was removed to improve his quality of life. As soon as he came out of surgery, Wellie went straight to him and snuggled right next to him.
“Wellie immediately comforted his brother after the surgery and Wally woke up purring.”

“They’ve always been loving and very playful, but that bond grew even more after Wally’s eye surgery. Wellie really stepped up and was so protective of his brother. You could tell he knew his brother needed healing, and Wellie was the best nurse to him.”
“I have never met two kittens purring so loudly and consistently in my life.”

The once cute cat has blossomed into “the world’s cutest boy”. Wellie loves to be rocked by his humans and soaks up all the love.
“Nobody thrives in a kennel. This is one of the reasons grooming is so important. Wellie was always a cute, happy boy; he just needed the right environment for his true self to shine through.”
Frankie
From the very first day, Frankie hoped the two brothers would stay together. Yesterday, their dream came true.
“Wally and Wellie have been adopted together. Now they never have to know a life without each other. Their mom will spend the week getting ready for their arrival and is so excited to love and spoil them forever.”
