That’s it, the Rimac Neverra is “street legal” in the United States

The Rimac Nevera is an incredible 100% electric supercar with more than 1,900 horsepower that has just been officially homologated on American roads. Of the 150 copies planned, some will therefore cross the Atlantic.

Mate Rimac, a 34-year-old entrepreneur, is a visionary. Its well-defined goal is to change the way we think about supercars. His plans don’t just impress the general public. Porsche sees big things for Rimac, evidenced by the Stuttgart firm’s latest investment in the Croatian company. Let’s not forget the close tie between the Croatian automaker and Bugatti, which will oversee future electric hypercars. And precisely, Rimac’s work is beginning to bear fruit: the incredible Nevera, an electric supercar with astonishing performance is indeed real. The 1,914 horsepower electric car had officially become legal and road legal in Croatia. At the time, Mate Rimac said that the car produced in limited series (only 150 copies will be made) will soon be delivered to customers in other markets.

According to the founder’s latest Facebook post, it looks like US-based customers won’t have to wait much longer. Mate Rimac shared documents from the EPA and CARB (California Air Resources Board), noting that the electric supercar is now “EU and US homologated and ready for delivery”. According to the certificates below, the Nevera received an all-electric range estimate of 287.28 miles, or 461 kilometers. That’s less than the 550 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle, but still impressive considering that the Croatian supercar can hit 100 km/h in just over 1.85 seconds. and that it can reach a top speed of 415 km/h.

Other novelties?

“Production car #002 is in pre-delivery testing on the roads around Zagreb today”, he said, noting that it is not for the company to share photos. This is a privilege reserved for enthusiastic customers. “We are finally getting there thanks to the enormous efforts of the whole team”, added Rimac. Although only 150 examples will travel international roads, Rimac has gone to great lengths to ensure that the Nevera can be used legally in most places in the world. In addition to cold weather testing, the Nevera was also subjected to extreme crash tests. More than 45 pre-production examples were sacrificed in the name of safety.

All these efforts have been rewarded: the Nevera can officially be registered in the United States and please interested parties across the Atlantic.
