An unexpected therapy
Teddy reveals her sweet and affectionate personality. Little by little, a solid bond is built between Carly and him. The young woman begins to realize that he is very positive for her: ” owning a dog is such a conscious experience for someone like me who has ADHD and is overly thoughtful: when you take care of a dog, he just lives in the moment, so Teddy encourages me to do that too she explains.
Thanks to his new friend, Carly reconnects with the simple things of everyday life, which were a waste of time for her because of her ADHD : “ when I go out with Teddy, I focus on what he is focusing on. And time spent on the couch cuddling or playing with him is never wasted. “.
The young woman is now able to rethink her life differently, with more lightness: “ adopting Teddy has totally changed my priorities and my lifestyle […] Teddy taught me the beauty of spending quality time together, rather than having to be productive. Before I got it, I judged myself harshly on everything I accomplished during the day. “.
In addition to emotional support, Teddy allowed him to meet other dog owners in the neighborhood, especially during confinement. The teddy bear-like dog does not fail to soften those who meet him, especially since he is very sociable and kind!
Once again, animals have proven how much they can help people with neurological conditions. The management of these is often complicated, but zootherapy is developing as an effective therapeutic means!
