Søren High experienced what all pet owners fear: the loss of her cat. To help her grief, she made a decision that surprised a large number of Internet users.
We cannot measure the love we have for our pets or the pain we feel when we suddenly lose them. Søren Høja Portland-based clothing designer, could do nothing to save her cat when it was attacked by a dog.
“I saw my cat killed in front of my house by a dog that I was taking care of one of the hardest losses of my life. I had never experienced anything like this before, nor since his death. It was so sudden,” she testifies in a Tik Tok video. A painful loss that she cannot overcome. For her, it is too difficult to say goodbye to her cat and bury it. She decides to approach
overhaul which consists in preserving the appearance of a dead animal.
She keeps the remains of her cat
For this, your cat must be freeze-dried. This is a technique to suck the moisture out of the animal’s body to preserve its remains. It was her cat frozen for one month before she sends it to the taxidermist with a package. The American paid out in total $3,200or 2,990 euros for this operation.
On TikTok, the young woman explained the whole process in detail. His furball’s organs were removed before being cremated and stored in an urn. She kept only her heart, which she also decided to freeze-dry.

After waiting three months, Søren High was able to find his cat and did not hesitate to show it off on social networks. “I’m very, very, very happy to see him again. I’m happy to wake up next to him every morning and
to be able to caress him“, she exclaimed.
“To have the opportunity to touch him again is really special, to see him in the house again, just to know he’s there, I think personally. This will really help me with my grieving process.“, she concludes. From now on, her cat is carefully placed on her bedside table, protected from moisture and sun.
