Amber Heard cornered by Johnny Depp’s lawyer, muscular cross-examination

Divorced for six years, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard continue to accuse each other of domestic violence. Their defamation lawsuit in Virginia, which began a month ago, is continuing.

It’s been a tough two days for Amber Heard, who answered questions from Camille Vasquez, her ex-husband Johnny Depp’s lawyer. Tuesday, May 17, the latter completed her cross-examination, during which she portrayed the 36-year-old actress as the instigator of the many disputes with her ex-husband, and often the first to strike.

The lawyer also mentioned accusations of domestic violence dating back to a previous relationship with American actress Tasya van Ree. In 2009, two police officers claimed to have seen Amber Heard hit his partner in the arm and rip off her necklace. The actress had been arrested before the charges against her were dropped. “Johnny Depp is not the only partner you have assaulted,” launched Camille Vasquez. “I have never assaulted Johnny Depp or anyone with whom I had a romantic relationship, ever,” Amber Heard replied confidently in court in Fairfax, Virginia, as reported by AFP. “Many times I had to use my body to defend myself, and that included hitting where I could if it allowed me to escape.”

In an audio recording at the center of the proceedings on Tuesday, Amber Heard admits to having “slapped” him during an argument in March 2015 in Australia, where Johnny Depp was filming the 5th installment of the saga “Pirates of the Caribbean”, and treats him baby”. In this recorded conversation, the actor claims to have had to take refuge in a bathroom in the face of his wife’s anger. Camille Vasquez also underlined a sentence from Amber Heard in the diary shared by the couple: “I’m sorry to go crazy sometimes.”

Still on Tuesday, the lawyer also asked Amber Heard about a visit from her film partner James Franco to her Los Angeles apartment in May 2016, the day after a violent argument with Johnny Depp which would have precipitated their divorce. According to Amber Heard, the latter would have thrown a phone in her face. Just before this visit from James Franco, immortalized by the elevator surveillance cameras, Amber Heard had the locks of their apartment changed. It has already been claimed during this trial that Johnny Depp was allegedly jealous of James Franco and thought he was having an affair with his wife. “You knew that Mr. Depp was not in town on May 22, 2016, didn’t you?” Camille Vasquez notably launched. “I did not know his schedule,” then replied Amber Heard.

As a reminder, the star of the films “Pirates of the Caribbean” attacked his ex-wife for defamation following a column published by the actress in December 2018 in the “Washington Post”. Tribune in which Amber Heard evoked the domestic violence of which she would have been the victim of the hand of her husband, without naming him. Firmly denying having been violent towards his former partner, even claiming that the roles were reversed, the actor claims 50 million dollars in compensation for the damage that these accusations have caused to his career.
