Around forty drivers ready to challenge the clock at the Issoire-Le Vernet hill climb

For two days, Saturday 18 May and Sunday 19 May, motorsport fans will rejoice at the 30.e version of the Issoire-Le Vernet hill climb.

On the occasion of this anniversary edition, the organizing association, Écurie Limagne Groupe Compétition, pulled out all the stops.

First of all, to attract as many people as possible, access to the site is free. From Saturday afternoon, the drivers carry out free practice before moving on to the hour test the following day. On the program for the drivers, the unchanged 1.5 kilometer route along the RD999, with its 14 turns, an average gradient of 5% and 3 climbs to stand out.

Around forty competitors are expected who will try to succeed Fabrice Gallo, who aboard his Norma M20 FC had written his name on the list in 2023.

There will be no shortage of activities outside the circuit, including the “Explosion Engine” exhibition, in collaboration with the Brassac-les-Mines Tour of Yesteryear Museum, at the Château de Montfort, as well as two concentrations, at Le Vernet -Chaméane , with Alpine on on Saturday and Porsche the following day.

The program

SATURDAY. From 10.00 to 15.00: technical and administrative control in Issoire, avenue JF Kennedy (Orbeil car park). From 14.00 to 18.00: free training. All day: Club Alpine exhibition at Vernet-Chaméane.

Sunday. From 9.00 to 12.00: tests. From 14.00 to 18.00: timed climbs. All day: Club Alpine and Porsche exhibition in Vernet-Chaméane.

Both days: exhibitions of vintage cars and the internal combustion engine at Château de Montfort.
