When I started bringing up the idea of releasing a new TOP 5 ice cream in Lyon, a real trench war broke out within Team CityCrunch. Each member of the team defends their favorite ice cream parlor tooth and nail, disparaging their colleagues’ (and until then friends’) favorites in the process. Fortunately, by consulting our friendly readers, by making compromises and concessions, we managed to come up with a TOP 5 of our favorite ice cream parlors in Lyon.
Nardone (Lyon 5)
How to make a selection of Lyon glaciers without mentioning the legendary Nardone glacier. In addition to offering an impressive variety of flavors and being one of the oldest ice cream parlors in Lyon (currently the fourth generation has the reins), it is the perfect place to enjoy an ice cream facing the Saône. So a must before or after your little stroll along the quay!

Único (Lyon 1)
Created by the creative minds of Julia and Tiago, Único is the essential address for lovers of authentic and seasonal ice cream. They work with local artisans for their raw materials, which explains the unique taste and subtle nuances of their products. They even opened Frescoes, the latest, which also highlights all the deliciousness of Italian ice cream.

Agathe and François, now contributing ice cream makers, first headed a food truck that roamed the streets of Lyon to sell their first cones. Wanting something new, the couple decided to settle in a colorful shop where they lovingly make delicious ice cream, cakes and other sweets. The queue that forms in front of their shop as soon as the temperature exceeds 25°C is proof that it is delicious!

Joséphine (Lyon 1)
Joséphine is the small artisanal ice cream parlor that has been around since 1995 (although it has changed owners, the master ice cream parlor remains the same) in our dear capital of Gaul. Their ice cream and sorbet are 100% homemade on site and come in around thirty varieties. And in addition to making delicious ice cream, Joséphine also has the double role of restaurant and tea room that makes delicious French brunches.
