On Tuesday, MetLife France presented the results of its 2024 barometer conducted by CSA.
MetLife France presented the results of its 2024 barometer carried out by the CSA among 200 professionals, whether insurance brokers, credit brokers or general insurance agents. The barometer thus gives us their perception of the loan insurance market. This survey was conducted by telephone from August 22 to September 10, 2024. The survey, conducted every year, aims to show the market trends observed by intermediaries on this topic.
“Stabilization seems to be the key word this year,” says the individual pension specialist, with the “Lemoine effect” tending to wear off and annual terminations no longer showing signs of increasing.

Much less defensive strategy for banks
The barometer provides a certain number of conclusions, including some on termination. Regarding the latter, activity is stable for 70% of distributors. Only 24% of distributors noted an increase in loaner insurance substitution compared to 57% last year. Furthermore, the proportion of brokers and agents who observe a change in borrower behavior compared to the previous year, such as requests for explanations or offers, is significantly lower than last year with a proportion of 20% against 57% in 2023.
