Burger King trolls the French with this cliché about France in its latest ad

Burger Kingit is a huge chain of fast food which has more than 13,000 restaurants around the world, more than two-thirds of them in the United States. But it is also a chain of fast food known for its offbeat communication, as proven once again by this advertising campaign recently launched in France.

Burger King, a fast food chain with offbeat communication

As we said, Burger King is a successful fast food chain. Particularly famous in the United States, it does not necessarily reach the immense popularity of McDonald’s restaurants, but it stands out for its often funny and original advertising campaigns, even if it means tackling the competition.

In France, the very first Burger King restaurant opened in 1980, in Paris at the same time as McDonalds and Quick. The brand then disappeared from the country at the end of the 90s due to too low profitability, before coming back in force at the beginning of the 2010s. Since then, Burger King has continued to rely on its offbeat communication, but also on the quality of his preparations, by betting particularly on the 100% French, as evidenced by its latest advertising campaign.

100% French and grumpy ingredients

Even if it means being beaten up by complainers, Burger King has decided to focus its latest advertising campaign on the use of 100% French ingredients in many preparations, while giving them a very French character: they are particularly grumpy!

So don’t be surprised if over the next few weeks, you come across the brand’s advertising posters in the street featuring Parisians… uh French nuggets that don’t respond when told “Hello”, or vacationers… well never happy fries, who complain of being too cold or too hot.

In short, another advertising campaign that will probably not please everyone but whose originality we will nevertheless salute, even if it means alienating a few customers: there is no doubt that the most complaining French people – because yes, there are some – will not appreciate being caricatured in this way. And you, what do you think of this new campaign from Burger King (whose abandoned restaurant was recently discovered)? Do not hesitate to give us your opinion in comments!
